Hey readers,
Welcome back to Tuesday's Takeaways!
This week our Top Quotes are about heartbreak, but we've chosen to highlight these particular poems because they don't just describe the hurting that comes with heartbreak, they also describe the healing. One the left side we have the pain, and on the right side (from that same poem) we show you that it will get better.
  • Takeaway trivia of the week: Do you think it's possible to feel physical pain when you're emotionally hurting?
There was once a time that I thought you loved me,           Monday morning, and I'm thinking
but those plants have grown for another,                                               about  how wonderful it is
and this is something I learned to make peace with.                            to not love you anymore,
Monday morning, and I’m trying to convince myself                        and it’s so strange because
that I never wanted those flowers in the first place,         I had spent so much time wondering
but I’ve never been good at lying                                                                 what love would be like
and I won’t start now.                                                                                                    in the first place

                                                             -Maya Garcia, The Lung Flowers

You left me there,                                                                      It's one thing to say I don't want you
Kneeling on my bedroom floor to play                                                                                  anymore
52 pickup with my heart.                                                         It's another thing to look you in your
A few cards were stuck to the bottom                                                                                            eyes
of your Stan Smiths,                                                               In those beautiful brown eyes and say:
And as you left, I could do nothing but                                           “I don’t long for you at 3:14 a.m.
watch you step on them.                                                                          in my empty bed anymore."

                                                                               -Miles Mercer, 3:14 AM

...what they don’t tell you is                                                                                     But heartbreak has
that it’ll come at you in waves.         a pattern that was specifically designed by your ex-lover...
They don’t tell you that your heart will           and as they broke you apart over and over again
break and ache at the most random times.                                                          parts of you died…                                         Instead, they fill your head                                                                            but when you finally left,
with thoughts of heartbreak happening only once.                                 better parts came alive.

                                                                         -Kiara Marie Reyes, Healing
And now...
Yes, it's totally possible! There has been tons of research on it! So next time you're experiencing heartbreak definitely grab some ice cream and put on your favorite movie, you deserve to feel some happiness!

Next week's theme will be about time.
Make sure to stay tuned! <3
